【国際活動】2017年スリランカの洪水被害に係るスリランカ・ソーシャルワーク専門職協会（SLAPSW）への支援金募集

　2017年５月、スリランカ南西部は記録的な豪雨に見舞われ大きな洪水や土砂崩れが発生し、甚大な被害が発生しています。

　現地の被災地では、５月29日現在、子ども14万人を含む、47万人が被災し多数の住民が避難していると言われています。また、SLAPSWからの情報では、200人以上が死亡し、100人以上が行方不明となっており、そして被災者の４分の１は学齢期の子どもであり、SLAPSWは子どもたちの支援を求めています。

　日本ソーシャルワーカー連盟（JFSW）では、2011年に日本で開催されたアジア太平洋ソーシャルワーク会議やその後のアジア太平洋地域におけるワークショップで災害をテーマにしたシンポウム等を継続的に取り組んできました。

　そうした経過も踏まえ、JFSWとして、同じく国際ソーシャルワーカー連盟に加盟するSLAPSWに見舞金（支援金）をお送りすることにいたしました。現在、UNICEFを始め各国がスリランカへの救援金や義援金を募集していますが、私たちソーシャルワーカー団体としましては、被害地域における今後のソーシャルワーカーによる支援活動において、その拠点となるSLAPSWに支援金をお届けしたいと考えております。

　つきましては、次により支援金を募集させていただきますので、ソーシャルワーカー並びに関係者の皆さまのご協力をよろしくお願いいたします。

スリランカ・ソーシャルワーク専門職協会（SLAPSW）からの
2017年スリランカの洪水被害に係る支援金への感謝メールについて（ご報告）

　８月18日に日本ソーシャルワーカー連盟よりスリランカ・ソーシャルワーク専門職協会（SLAPSW）に2017年スリランカの洪水被害に係る支援金（４団体合計額：133,000円／＄1203.84）を送金しましたところ、SLAPSW事務局より感謝メールが届きました。

　感謝のメッセージとともに、状況報告も書かれておりますので、その要約をご報告させていただきます。

＜感謝メールの要約＞
・進学や卒業試験に向けて勉強中の子どものために被災地の学校より図書室設置の要請がありました。
・プレスクールが数校ほど全壊となり、就学年齢未満の子どもの教育機会が奪われています。
・25校のプレスクールの復興に向けて、補助金の企画申請中です。
・今回の義援金は緊急支援として非常に助かります。
・12月の試験に向けて勉強中の子どもにとって、長期的な影響は課題です（学歴など）。
・今後も経過報告を送ります。
・物質的な援助と同時に、心理社会的な回復の支援も求められます（特に、身近な人を失った被災者、仮設住宅の入居者、負傷者の場合）。

＜感謝メール全文（英語）＞
Dear Sir,

We are very happy acknowledge with thanks the generous donation of 133,000JPY. It is a very big donation to us at this moment , enabling us to continue with the relief work that we have been doing. In addition to thealready planned work we have being asked for assistance to set up the libraries in a few schools specially those books needed for reference workof students who are preparing for examinations.

There is much work to be done. Some of the preschools in the districtshave been completely damaged by the floods and land slide depriving the children of preschool age the chance to have early child hood education.
We are writing up a programme to find the financial assistance to renovate at least 25 preschools where very poor children are being provided Early child hood Education.

Your assistance is most welcome at this moment. Knowing the fact what trauma the children specially those who are planning to sit for the exams are going through.

Please send us the emails of the four associations who have assisted us at this moment so that we can thank them for their generous donations. It is indeed a timely gesture on your part to assist us as the need is so great.
Immediate needs such as food, clothing is always met but the long term needs to get back to their studies with the loss of all their past work,with no opportunities to do reference work is a terrible hazard to those who are preparing for the examinations in December.

We definitely will send you periodical updates of the progress of the work. While working in the field we do have many challenges. While providing the material need of those affected by the disaster, we also have to help the affected with their psychological recovery. Especially those who have lost their loved once, those who have lost their house and are still in temporary shelters, those who are injured and still recovering.
We feel it is important that psychological recovery is also important to go hand in hand with work that is being done.
